Position Overview

The Rancher Labs team is seeking a sales executive to develop our business in our Southwest region. Our ideal candidate will have experience introducing new products to the market, strong communication skills, and a strong background selling enterprise software. This role we be responsible for developing regional sales with support of inside sales, field marketing and technical pre-sales engineering resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving revenue and growing market share in Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego and Phoenix.
  • Meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Aligning technical pre-sales, inside sales & field marketing support to meet sales priorities.
  • Developing and managing a robust pipeline for the Southwest territory.
  • Accurately forecasting sales for the region.
  • Developing and executing account plans for strategic accounts.
  • Initiating, growing and maintaining long term relationships with customers and partners.
  • Providing leadership and customer feedback throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Acting as the public representative of Rancher Labs in, including writing, speaking at industry events, conferences and seminars.
  • Work with existing customers to maintain customer satisfaction in the region.
  • Providing regular communication with global sales management and other executive staff to augment efforts and share support.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through all levels of communication.

A successful candidate may have:

  • 3+ years of experience selling software products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience selling software in areas such as virtualization, DevOps, cloud computing, or other enterprise software products.
  • Experience in motivating and aligning pre-sales, inside sales and field marketing resources towards a territory plan.
  • Experience in sales pipeline management and planning for exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience securing and retaining Fortune 500 companies as customers.
  • Experience developing market awareness for new products in assigned region.
  • Experience developing an open source community.
  • Ability to negotiate contract terms, pricing, renewals and cancellations.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude for learning.
  • Ability to set and maintain goals, welcome feedback and enjoy success.
  • Experience selling complex solutions that include multiple products and services.
  • Must have excellent, clear writing and verbal communication skill.
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm for working in a startup environment
  • Recent sales experience in target sales territory

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
