Illumina Innovates with Rancher and Kubernetes
Rancher 2.0 is now available in Beta, and users will notice a ton of new features that really improve how users deploy and manage their applications. In this meetup, we’ll walk through how to deploy applications in Rancher 2.0, as well as how to use the new monitoring, logging and pipeline features.
During the Meetup we’ll be demoing the new Beta, including all of the user-level features. Rancher co-founders Darren Shepherd and Shannon Williams will discuss and demo: -Deploying Kubernetes Applications in Rancher -Automating log management -Configuring monitoring and alerts -Using the Rancher Catalog with Helm -Using Rancher pipeline.
Container platforms continue to evolve and mature in the Enterprise, with Kubernetes fast becoming the standard orchestration platform.
Join Rancher and experts from Aquasec and StorageOS as we show how to easily deploy and manage a Kubernetes cluster, and then look into ways to address the questions of security and storage in the platform.
In this session you’ll learn: How to deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters to any on-prem or cloud based platform How to deploy an application to the platform How to set up persistent storage volumes How to secure the container environments at each level Attendees are politely asked to ensure they attend if registered as space is limited to only 30 people, and also to be conversant with basic container management principles and aware of basic Kubernetes functionality.
We’re excited to announce that we’re co-sponsoring the inaugural Helm Summit in Portland, Oregon this February 21st and 22nd. Rancher is sponsoring breakfast. (Every cowboy and cowgirl needs to start the day off right.) We’ll also have a table to connect with everyone and give away cool swag. Haven’t heard of the Helm Summit? Helm Summit provides an opportunity for new and existing users and contributors to Helm and Charts to share stories and best practices.
The next Luxembourg Rancher Meetup is on the Calendar! In “Journey to Discover Rancher 2.0”, the presenters will go over what’s new in Rancher 2.0, learn about Rancher 2.0 and Kubernetes, get an Introduction to RKE (and other tools to try Kubernetes) and answer the question “What is Kubernetes?” A great event for those new or familiar with containerisation, Rancher, and Kubernetes alike. What is the Luxembourg Rancher Meetup? Our goal is to highlight the Rancher Labs technologies, which allow us to orchestrate merely Kubernetes, Mesos and Swarm as well as Cattle, the Rancher orchestrator!
Going to be in Bochum, Germany February 21st and 22nd? Lucky you! Attend the workshops, talks and networking opportunities of the DevOps Gathering. Our Rancher Partner Bee42 is organizing the conference and presenting. What is the DevOps Gathering? The DevOps Gathering is an international conference located in Bochum - surrounded by the metropolitan area of the Ruhr Valley. This melting pot of past times industrial revolutions is nowadays a hot spot for Germany’s IT industry - a perfect place to discuss the next big revolution of our industry, the DevOps revolution.
If you’re headed to Pasadena, California this weekend for Scale15x, come see us! We’re excited to be presenting, and our talks are focused on practical knowledge for running containers and Kubernetes in production. While Rancher makes it easy to deploy and manage containers and Kubernetes, building that ease of use has required specific expertise and disciplined thought on how teams are incorporating them into their projects today. We’re headed to Scale to share what we’ve learned, and to get feedback from you.
We’re winding down for the year, but you’ll still be able to check out Rancherin a few places, live and in real-time. We always look forward to meeting users whenever we can, and hearing from you only helps make us better.
Meetups and Talks Dec 3, Montreal, CN: Architecting Distributed Applications Across Datacenters and Clouds. Join us as we discuss popular orchestrators, and strategies for operationalizing distributed applications across diverse infrastructure.
In less than a week, over 24,000 developers, sysadmins, and engineers will arrive in Las Vegas to attend AWS re:Invent (Nov. 28 - Dec 2). If you’re headed to the conference, we look forward to seeing you there! We’ll be onsite previewing enhancements included in our upcoming Rancher v1.2 release:
Support for the latest versions of Kubernetes and Docker: As we’ve previously mentioned, we’re committed to supporting multiple container orchestration frameworks, and we’re eager to show off our latest support for Docker Native Orchestration and Kubernetes.
