Continental Innovates with Rancher and Kubernetes
K3s is an official CNCF sandbox project that delivers a lightweight yet powerful certified Kubernetes distribution designed for production workloads across resource-restrained, remote locations or on IoT devices. When used with Rancher, K3s is simple to install, lightweight yet high availability Kubernetes distribution that can be easily managed within the Rancher orchestration platform.
When Rancher is used alongside K3s, organizations are equipped with a simple yet complete solution to run Kubernetes at the edge. K3s simplifies deployment at the edge and enables users with the ability to quickly launch thousands of clusters. Rancher helps K3s users manage the high volume of clusters with Rancher Continuous Delivery which gives users a controller that allows them to efficiently manage Kubernetes at the edge.
K3s was originally a Rancher project. In June 2020 Rancher donated K3s the CNCF as a testament to the Rancher's commitment to the open source community
K3s is a highly avalible, certified Kubernetes distribution designed for production workloads in unattended, resource constrained, remote locations or inside IoT appliances
K3s is packaged as a signle <40MB binary that reduces the dependancies and steps needed to install, run and auto-update a production Kubernetes cluster.
Both ARM64 and ARMv7 are supported with binaries and multi arch images avaliable for both. K3s works great from something as small as Raspberry Pi to an AWS a1.4x large 32gb server
